"Law and order is in shambles. Has AINRC ever vocied its concern for the release of fishermen from Karaiakal arrested by Sri Lankan Navy? No. Whenever our Tamil Nadu fishermen are apprehended I take efforts for their release and when they are freed, Karaikal fishermen also walk free due to my efforts," she said.

She asked if AINRC had ever spoken in support of Sri Lankan Tamils issue or at least passed a resolution in the assembly, in an apparent reference to her government passing a slew of resolutions in this matter.

The present government had not highlighted the feelings of the local people with the Centre even as it had not opposed the Planning Commission reducing the allocation for the UT's Plan Expenditures for the current year to Rs 2000 crore from Rs 3000 crore in 2012-13, which amounted to a dip in the growth of the state, she said.

The Puducherry government was also 'silent' on various "anti-people" measures of Congress-led UPA towards the UT including the famous JIPMER Hospital introducing income ceiling for free treatment while it was universal even about five years ago.
