Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate Navneet Kaur Rana, Republican Party of India's (Gawai) Rajendra Gawai and Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Gunwant Deopare were among the 12 candidates who filed their nominations for the Amravati Lok Sabha constituency today.

Led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, guardian minister of the district Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, minister Anil Deshmukh, Nawab Malik, MLA Ravi Rana, MLA Jitendra Awhad and scores of other prominent leaders, actress-turned-politician Navneet Rana filed her second set of papers today morning.

Making her political debut straight for the Lok Sabha elections, she said that her single mission is to send sitting Shiv Sena MP Anand Adsul back to Mumbai where he belongs.

She said that he (Adsul) made her cry the other day by making slanderous remarks against her. "But now I will make him cry for ever," she said.

Stating that she would fight the polls on the issue of development of the constituency.

"I want to do something concrete for the youth in my constituency who have to beg for jobs all the time. I also want insurance for peasants and better facilities for all," she said.

Sulking due to the denial of an NCP-quota seat to him, RPI (Gawai) candidate Rajendra Gawai, who took the Bharatiya Republican Paksh-Bahujan Mahasangh's (BRP-BMS) support, also filed his nomination today. He organised an impressive rally from Irwin Square here.

Gunwant Deopare, was strongly in the race for an NCP candidature but was pipped by Navneet Kaur Rana, who filed his papers today as the BSP candidate.

Though the party had awarded its candidature earlier to Ravindra Vaidya, a last minute change enabled Deopare to join the fray as the BSP's candidate.
