Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh can't look beyond the mother-son duo of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, and therefore, was unable to see or accept that there is a Modi wave across the country.
"Recently, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that he did not see any Modi wave in the country. I want to ask him what does he see?. Did he ever see the growing corruption, unemployment, poverty, or the increasing number of farmer suicides?" asked Modi, while addressing a rally in Solan.
"When he did not see all this, how can he see a Modi wave in the country, he can only see the mother and son duo," he said.
He further said no matter what any astrologer said he was sure that his party is going to win in the ongoing elections.
"These elections are for the hopes and dreams of millions of Indians. No matter what any astrologer or expert says, I know what is going to be the result of these elections. In fact by looking at any of the three rallies I conducted in Himachal, anyone can guess the outcome," Modi said.
"Till now, it has already become evident that the people have decided to throw out the mother and son government. The country has wasted its precious ten years on the Congress, and now it wants a strong and stable government," he said.
"When Atalji was the prime minister, he had tried to protect the farmers by putting a duty on import, but the Congress has left the field open to foreigners, it doesn't matter to them if the people of Himachal die. I promise you that if BJP comes to power, I will never disappoint you," he added.
