Spitting fire at the "mother-son duo" (of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi) for "backstabbing" the youth of Seemaandhra region, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today promised to stand by them (youth) and help them realise their dreams.

"The government of the mother and son back-stabbed you and shattered your dreams. It has left you orphaned. But now is the time for you to elect a government that will stand by you. I will help you realise your dreams," Modi said while addressing a mammoth election rally at Guntur this evening.

Addressing his third meeting as part of a whirlwind campaign tour in Seemaandhra region of Andhra Pradesh today, the Gujarat Chief Minister specifically sought to attract farmers and youth by raising issues relevant to them.

"Like Gujarat, Guntur is a high cotton-growing region. But cotton growers of Guntur were forced to suffer a loss of Rs 7,000 crore as the mother-son government banned export of cotton," he pointed out.

"But the BJP government, when voted to power at the Centre, will implement a 5F formula of farm-fibre-fabric- fashion-foreign. That will help the local youth and cotton growers in a big way as they could export their produce and create a demand in overseas markets for their ready made garments," Modi said.

Noting that chilli and turmeric, the two other major cash crops grown in Guntur district, had good use in pharmaceutical industry, he said setting up research centres in the region would boost export of chilli and turmeric.

"We will endeavour to do that," he promised the farmers.
