Congress leader Anirudh Singh has retained Himachal Pradesh's Kasumpti assembly seat, defeating his nearest BJP rival and state minister Suresh Bhardwaj by a margin of 8,655 votes. Congress MP Anand Sharma said that the Old Pension Scheme has been demanded by other states too.

"In Himachal Pradesh, it was demanded by Govt employees and their staff. The reasons will be analysed but Congress has won in north India after several years. This will boost morale and influence other states.
