Deutsche Bank today appointed Douglas Neilson as its chief country officer for India. Neilson was the acting chief country officer from January 2001 after the exit of Javad Shirazi.
Neilson will also continue to be the director and the head of corporate credit, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand . He has been holding this post for the past four years.
Deutsche Bank has five branches: -- Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore. Neilson will also share responsibilities with the relevant regional product and support function heads for the management of the bank's corporate and investment banking in India.

The bank has divided its business to corporate and investment banking and private clients and asset management. Deutsche Bank had late last year transferred its retail branch in Chandigarh to HSBC thus moving out of retail business in the country.
The bank is into private banking, custody, global cash management, corporate banking, transaction banking etc in the country.
In the custody business it bought over two companies in the past one year-- Southern India Depository Services and the custody and investor business of IIT Corporate Services.
