Grameena bank's business up

The Malaprabha Grameena Bank, the regional rural bank catering to Dharwad, Belgaum, Haveri and Gadag districts has registered a growth of 24 per cent in the financial year 2004-2005.
 
Bank's chairman B S Surendra said that the bank had reached a total business of Rs 1,916 crore in the just concluded financial year.
 
This was an increase of Rs 372 crore over 2003-2004, he added. The deposits of the bank have risen to Rs 1,002.54 crore recording a growth of 17.58 per cent while the loans disbursed stood at Rs 439.29 crore during the year.
 
There has been a rise in advances by 32.22 per cent with the bank making an advance of Rs 914.80 crore. Surendra said the CD ratio of the bank is now 91.25 per cent and formed 5.22 per cent of the total advances.
