Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OIC) and the Department of Posts on Thursday launched the scheme of selling non-life insurance products of OIC through post offices in Andhra Pradesh.
 
OIC and Department of Posts had signed a memorandum of understanding in January last for the distribution of products through 1.5 lakh post offices across the country.
 
In the pilot phase, the scheme was launched in seven states "� Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.
 
Launching the scheme, T S Govindrajan chief postmaster general, AP circle, said that initially the scheme will be implemented in nine districts of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Warangal, Nizamabad, Kurnool, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Chittoor and Krishna.
