An Indian delegation comprising Sh. Shaktikanta Das, Revenue Secretary to the Government of India; Sh. K.V. Chowdary, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes and Sh. Akhilesh Ranjan, JS, FT&TR met with the Swiss State Secretary for International Finance Matters, Jacques de Watteville in Bern on October 15th, 2014. Various bilateral and multilateral tax and financial issues were discussed in the meeting. On the occasion, the two heads of delegation signed a joint statement on the topics discussed. The two heads of delegation agreed to continue the dialogue between the two countries.

This official working visit was part of the regular dialogue conducted by the Swiss and Indian authorities. The meeting was a follow-up to a Swiss delegation's visit to New Delhi in February 2014. It was also the first high-level meeting between the two countries' tax and financial authorities since the new Indian government took up office in May this year. A copy of the Swiss-Indian Joint statement issued after the meeting is provided as Annexure.
