30 Indian fishermen arrested by Sri Lankan Navy

The Indian fishermen in seven trawlers have been accussed of violating the international maritime border

Sri Lanka has arrested at least thirty Indian fishermen for allegedly poaching in its waters, Naval spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said today.
The Indian fishermen in a total of seven trawlers have violated the international maritime border and were arrested last night
while fishing close to Nainativu, a small island near Jaffna, he said.

They will be handed over to the Director of Fisheries before being taken to Kankesanturai Harbour for further investigations.
