Almaty: Iran and six world powers fail to reach agreement on an approach to reduce fears that Tehran might use its nuclear technology to make weapons, with the EU's foreign policy chief declaring that the two sides "remain far apart on substance."

Rome: Italy, which has pardoned a US air force officer, convicted in absentia last year for his role in CIA abduction of an Egyptian terror suspect, hopes that India will follow the same principle for two Italian marines facing murder charges for shooting two fishermen in India.

Berlin: India and Germany begin 2nd round of Inter-Governmental Consultations during which crucial bilateral, international and regional issues like the long pending India-EU Free Trade Agreement and the situation in Afghanistan would be discussed.

Washington: The World Bank has come out with a multi-billion ($12-20 billion) four-year plan aimed at bringing down poverty levels in seven low-income Indian states, where majority of India's poor live, to just 5.5% in 2030 against 29.8% in 2010.

Berlin: India and Germany agree to broaden their cooperation and "shape the future" with focus on trade, bilateral investment, energy, hi-tech and defence even as both sides committed themselves to EU-India negotiations for a "broad based, ambitious and balanced" FTA.
