The Hillary Clinton campaign has launched an ad that invites adults to imagine what a child might be learning from rival Donald Trump's campaign in an effort to highlight his provocative remarks, The New York Times said in a report.
The ad opens with soft, inviting piano tones set against a pink sunset and a neighbourhood at dusk, before the Republican Party's presumptive presidential nominee's voice interrupts the tranquil scene, the report said on Saturday.
"I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They'd be carried out on a stretcher, folks," Trump is heard telling a crowd.
More of his provocative comments are played, while the screen is filled with close-ups of children gazing at television sets, seemingly soaking up every "R-rated" remark, the NYT report said.
"Our children are watching," a text card warns after two small children watch a scene of the business-mogul appearing to mock a reporter with a disability.
In the end, Democratic Party's presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is shown delivering a speech on children, closing with, "We need to make sure that they can be proud of us", the report added.
This ad is a continuation of previously announced eight-figure buy for ads in Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, New Hampshire, Lowa, Florida, Nevada and North Carolina, CNN reported.
Polls earlier this week showed tightening battles in many of those states amid fallout from the Justice Department's decision to not pursue criminal charges against Clinton, for her use of a private email server at the State Department when she was the Secretary of State.
