Former Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf has challenged the special court established for his trial for high treason over its head judge for being biased.

Musharraf's counsel Advocate Riaz Sahi filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which stated that making Justice Faisal Arab the head of the special court would be inappropriate as he was one of the judges, who were suspended in 2007 emergency, and hence he would be biased, the Daily Times reports.

The petitioner pleaded the court to declare the special court null and void.
