US drone strike kills 40 IS militants in Afghanistan

Senior IS leader Ghaznawi Orukzai was also killed in the strikes

At least 40 militants of the Islamic State were killed in US drone strikes in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, TOLOnews reported on Tuesday.

The strike took place in Achin district of the province late on Monday after a US drone targeted insurgents in two different parts of the district, that also killed one of the group's senior leaders, Ghaznawi Orukzai.

However, officials have not yet commented on the operation.
