EdX, the online learning initiative founded by Harvard and MIT, had announced the addition of IIT Bombay in its distinguished group of xConsortium members across the globe, last year. As a result of this partnership, IIT Bombay has launched its two-part course on Signals and Systems on the edX platform.
This course will help students and learners become better equipped for the thousands of jobs across India and the world that require understanding of the basic toolkit for any signal processing application - the abstraction of signals and systems, from the point of view of analysis and characterization.
"India is an important market for us, and is home to the largest population of edX learners outside of the United States. We are pleased that IIT Bombay has launched its courses on our platform. Systems and Signals Part 1&2 are excellent courses which can help learners around the world," said Anant Agarwal, CEO, edX.
This course will equip you to deal with gathering, storing, transmitting and processing information from the physical world efficiently by learning the basic mathematical framework of signals and systems.
Signals and Systems, Part 1, an 8-week course, will start on January 15, 2015 and will explore the various properties of signals and systems, characterization of Linear Shift Invariant Systems, convolution and Fourier Transform. Signals and Systems, Part 2, an 8-week course, will start on April 2, 2015 and will deal with the Sampling theorem, Z-Transform, discrete Fourier transform and Laplace transform.
