DDB Mudra West has appointed Kapil Tammal as executive creative director. Tammal would be based in Mumbai and report to Rahul Mathew, creative head, DDB Mudra West. He joins DDB Mudra West from Scarecrow Communications where he was one of the founders. With over 15 years of industry experience, Tammal specialises in brands across categories ranging from FMCG, e-commerce, apparels, financial sectors, retail, real estate and media companies.
Managing pay platform
PayPal has appointed Anupam Pahuja as managing director and country manager for India. Pahuja, who was heading technology for Asia Pacific, will be responsible for all aspects of PayPal's India business and responsible for further strengthening its operations. Pahuja has experience in managing large-scale multinational enterprises, and he was instrumental in establishing PayPal's technology centres in India. Previously, he was the managing director for India for NASDAQ-listed e-learning company SumTotal Systems.
Calling card
Neo@Ogilvy has named Deepankar Kapoor as vice-president and head of strategy - India. Kapoor has worked on multiple aspects of digital strategy and planning - creative, content, media, technology and customer relationship management providing solutions for a roster of blue-chip brands. He joins Neo@Ogilvy from Havas Media where he was leading the digital strategy function. He has worked with brands such as Star TV, Sun Pharmaceuticals, LG, Amway, Xolo and Clovia.
Marketing role
Global marketing communications consultancy Maxus has appointed Vivek Ballabh as general manager, Maxus Digital, for north India. He joins Maxus from Cheil India where he managed media operations for multiple clients. In a career spanning over 14 years, Ballabh has worked with several agencies and companies including Monster.com, Webchutney, Digitas, and Razorfish. In the last one year, Maxus has moved towards a more digitally-charged media environment, and has also introduced proprietary tools such as Synapse, T2D (Television2Digital), Mesh, and Bespoke.
