Complaints about loss of baggage on a moving train can be filed in any forum
It was a traumatic experience for Subhashni L Katkar. In January 1997, she was travelling by the Kurla Express from Mumbai to Bangalore when her luggage worth Rs 32,035 was stolen.
The theft is said to have taken place at 3 a.m. on January 13 somewhere near Sholapur junction. She immediately went to the Railway Protection Force personnel travelling in another coach and found them asleep. She woke them and then, as advised by them, lodged a complaint at the Sholapur police station at 7 a.m. the next morning. She also made a complaint to the ticket inspector at Sholapur.
