Ashok Leyland has jumped in trades today on a two-fold surge in sales.
The stock touched a high of Rs 54.40 - up 3.3% from the previous close. Thereafter, it fell to a low of Rs 53.40 and is now up 1.7% at Rs 53.55. Over 461,000 shares have been sold on the BSE so far, as against the two week daily average trade of 424,000 shares.
The February sales figures of the Hinduja Group flagship company jumped over two-fold to 7,869 units from 3,245 units sold in the corresponding month last year.
Domestic sales stood at 7,092 units in February against 2,669 units in the same month last year, an over two-fold rise, it added.
Exports increased by 34.90 per cent to 777 units in the month compared with 576 units in the year-ago period.
