Balmer Lawrie surges on bonus issue plan

Balmer Lawrie and Company has surged 8% to Rs 625 after the company said that its board will consider a maiden bonus issue.

“The board of directors of company will meet on March 26, 2013, for consideration of 'Declaration of Bonus Shares',” Balmer Lawrie, the diversified company said in a filing.

The stock opened at Rs 615 and hit a high of Rs 640 on NSE. A combined 53,400 shares have changed hands on the counter till 1000 hours against an average sub 20,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on NSE and BSE.
