The Tamil Nadu Government has handed over the Letter of Award (LOA) for setting up of the Main Plant Package for the 2X800 mega watt (Mw) Uppur Supercritical Thermal Power Project, BHEL said in a press release.
The order is for setting up 1,600 Mw coal-based thermal power project with super critical parameters, involving two units of the country's highest rating 800 MW sets in Tamil Nadu, it added.
At 10:56 AM, the stock was up 8% at Rs 100 on the BSE. The counter has seen huge trading volumes with a combined 12.13 million shares changed hands so far against average sub 10 million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on the BSE and NSE.
