Cardamom down 0.8% on sluggish demand

Cardamom futures prices fell by Rs 6.10 to Rs 747 per kg today, due to sluggish demand at the prevailing increased levels against sufficient stock positions in the physical market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March declined by Rs 6.10, or 0.80%, to Rs 747 per kg in business turnover of 802 lots.
The April contract traded lower by Rs 5.60, or 0.70% to Rs 796.10 per kg, with trading volume of 281 lots, while February cardamom eased by Rs 3.80, or 0.55% to Rs 682.60 per kg, clocking a business volume of 1,167 lots.
Market analysts said the traders reduced their positions due to sluggish demand at the prevailing increased levels which also influenced the prices.
