Chana prices fell by Rs 19 to Rs 3,027 per quintal in futures trade today after participants trimmed positions amid adequate stocks position on higher supplies.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for February delivery declined by Rs 19, or 0.62%, to Rs 3,027 per quintal, with an open interest for 42,250 lots.

Similarly, chana for January delivery fell Rs 17, or 0.56%, to Rs 2,996 per quintal with open interest of 86,700 lots.

Traders said higher stocks from the old crop against subdued demand in the spot markets mainly put pressure on chana futures prices here.
