Yellow peas prices are likely to fall in the short term due to higher supplies, with the arrival of bulk vessels from Canada. Demand, on the other hand, is dull, as most buyers have completed their buying for the festive season. Apart from this, bearish sentiments prevail after government intervention by means of stock limits and raids, which will further affect the demand. These events are likely to take per-quintal prices lower towards Rs 2,200-2,150 from the current Rs 2,300 in Mumbai.
Turmeric
Turmeric prices in the Nizamabad market are trading at Rs 8,185 per quintal. Prices are expected to continue a bullish trend, on the back of firm demand due to festival buying. Prices are expected to move towards Rs 8,300 per quintal.
