Crude oil futures down 0.4% on weak Asian cues

Crude oil for July delivery moved down by 0.3%.

Crude oil futures prices today fell by 0.40% to Rs 5,538 per barrel, as speculators trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade.
    
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in June shed Rs 22 or 0.40%, to Rs 5,538 per barrel in 7,348 lots.
    
Similarly, crude oil for July delivery moved down by Rs 21, or 0.39%, to Rs 5,571 per barrel in 983 lots.

Meanwhile, crude oil for July delivery shed 37 cents to $95.51 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
    
Analysts said a weak trend in Asian trade after a surprise rise in US crude stockpiles mainly put pressure on crude oil prices at futures trade here.
