Crude oil futures down 0.7% on global cues

Inconclusive Italian national elections triggered weakening trend in Asia

Crude oil futures for March shed Rs 33, or 0.65%, to Rs 5,018 per barrel in 14,588 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract moved down by 0.61%, to Rs 5,066 per barrel in 1,870 lots.

Crude oil futures were down due to weakening trend in Asia after inconclusive Italian national elections threatened instability in the count and disrupted the euro zone's recovery.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), crude oil for April was down 63 cents, to $92.48 a barrel.
