The Dow Jones closed at 10,015, higher by 144 points or 1.47% and the Nasdaq ended at 2,172, stronger by 32 points or 1.5%.
The Indian ADRs ended in the green.
Sterlite closed at $18, higher by $1.3 or 7.9% and Tata Motors ended at $12, stronger by $0.7 or 6.4%. Infosys closed at $48, higher by $1.3 or 2.7%, Wipro ended at $18, higher by 0.6 or 3.6% and Satyam shut at $6.3, up 1.9%.
ICICI ended at $40, up $1.1 or 2.9% and HDFC added $3.4 or 2.9% to close at $123. Dr Reddy's put on $0.6 or 3% at $21.
