Edible oils strengthen on millers buying

Edible oil prices strengthened further up to Rs 100 per quintal on the oils and oilseeds market today on increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers amid a firming trend overseas.

In the non-edible section, neem oil, also showed a firmness on the back of a rise in industrial demand.

Traders said sustained buying by vanaspati millers and retailers for the ongoing marriage season amid firming trend in Malaysia mainly helped edible oil prices to strengthen.

In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils remained in demand and added another Rs 20 each to Rs 6,400 and Rs 5,970, while palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (kandla) oils inched up by Rs 10 each to Rs 6,000 and Rs 5,700 per quintal respectively.

Mustard expeller oil (Dadri) oils rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5,850 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils traded higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 770-925 and Rs 925-1,025 per tin.

Groundnut mill delivery oil (Gujarat) gained Rs 50 to Rs 8,100 per quintal.
    
Sesame and cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oils too traded in positive zone with a gain of Rs 30 each to Rs 5,600 and Rs 6,300 per quintal respectively.
    
In the non-edible section, neem oil moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 4,150-4,250 per quintal.

Oilcakes: groundnut dehusk 800-850, sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (new) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175.
