Eicher Motors has surged 4.8% to Rs 7172 on the BSE after posting a net profit of Rs 1,606.20 crore in Q4 March 2014 compared to net profit of Rs 972 crore in Q4 March 2013. In addition, the net sales for Q4 March 2014 stood at Rs 6357 crore as against Rs 3338 crore for the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, the company recorded sales of 3685 units in May 2014 compared to 3687 units in May 2013, representing a marginal decline of 0.05%.
In the domestic commercial vehicles market (5 tonnes and above), Eicher trucks and buses recorded sales of 3064 units in May 2014 as against 3488 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, denoting a decline of 12.2%.
Further, in exports, Eicher Trucks and Buses recorded sales of 621 units in May 2014 as compared to 199 units in May 2013, representing a significant growth of 212.1%.
The stock opened at Rs 6860, touched a high of Rs 7247 and a low of Rs 6811.9 on the BSE. A total of 46,153 shares have been traded on both the stock exchanges so far.
