Car maker Ford India reported a 49.80 per cent jump in sales for September at 3,405 units.

The company had reported sales of 2,273 units during the same month last year.

"We are seeing an overwhelming response to our product line-up with continued strong demand for the Ikon and the Fiesta," Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Nigel Wark said in a statement.

He said the new version of the sport utility vehicle 'Endeavour' launched in September, has also performed well and the company is in the process of rolling it out nationally.

The company had also last month unveiled its small car 'Ford Figo' in the presence of its global chief Alan Mulally.
