In an otherwise steady jaggery market today following restricted buying, gur pedi prices gained in Muzaffarnagar on paucity of stocks.

Market analysts said less arrivals and low stocks mainly pushed up gur pedi prices at Muzaffarnagar, while prices remained unchanged in the national capital on restricted buying.

In Muzaffarnagar, gur pedi gained by Rs 100 to Rs 2,700-2,750 per quintal.

Following were today's quotations per quintal:

Chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, Dhayya Rs 3,100-3,200, and Shakkar Rs 3,100-3,200.

Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,200-2,300, chakku Rs 2,375-2,550 and Khurpa Rs 2,350-2,450.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,700-2,750 and Dhaya Rs NA.
