HCL Technologies gains after block deal

Around 2.41 million equity shares of HCL Technologies changed hands on the BSE at 10:19 am.

HCL Technologies has moved higher by 3% to Rs 739 on the BSE after a huge block deal was executed in the counter.

At 10:19 am, around 2.41 million equity shares representing 0.17% of total capital of HCL Technologies changed hands, the BSE data shows. In past 10 trading sessions on an average sub 200,000 shares were traded on the BSE.

The name of the buyer and seller was not immediately ascertained.

The stock of information technology (IT) company hit a 52-week low of Rs 706 during intra-day trade May 10, 2016. In past one-month, it fell 16% as compared to a marginal 0.11% decline in S&P BSE Sensex till yesterday.

At 10.43 am, the stock was up 2.3% at Rs 737 on the BSE. A combined 4.67 million shares changed hands so far against an average 3.2 million shares that were traded daily on the BSE and NSE.
