HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Eicher Motors touch record highs; RIL hits fresh 52-week high

RIL hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,096 has outperformed the market by gaining 8% from its recent low of Rs 1,013 touched on September 2, against 0.84% rise in the Nifty 50.

HDFC Bank, Maruti Suzuki India and Eicher Motors from the benchmark Nifty50 index have hit their respective lifetime highs, while Reliance Industries (RIL) has touched fresh 52-week high on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday.

RIL hit a high of Rs 1,096, its highest level since June 2014 on the BSE in intra-day trade. The stock has outperformed the market by gaining 8% from its recent low of Rs 1,013 touched on September 2, as compared to 0.84% rise in the Nifty 50 index.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of RIL on September 01 announced the launch of Reliance Jio from September 05 with an aggressive pricing structure. Reliance Jio Infocomm is a subsidiary of RIL.

Eicher Motors (Rs 24,680), Maruti Suzuki India (Rs 5,634), TVS Motor Company (Rs 347) and Escorts (Rs 383) from the automobile sector were trading at their fresh record high. Thus far in September, all these four stocks were up between 6%-18% after posted strong double-digit domestic sales growth in August. The benchmark index was up 0.88% during the same period.

Analysts expects a recovery in economic growth, sales prospects from new models overseas and incremental demand from hike in public sector wages provide a positive outlook ahead.
