Jeera up 0.4% as demand picks up

Spice for delivery in April gained 0.38%

Jeera prices rose 0.42% to Rs 12,582.50 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators built up fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in March rose by Rs 52.50, or 0.42% to Rs 12,582.50 per quintal with an open interest of 7122 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in April gained Rs 47.50, or 0.38% to Rs 12,670 per quintal in 1437 lots.

Analysts attributed to rise in jeera futures to pick up in demand in the spot market.
