Lead prices moved down by 0.48% to Rs 124.75 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions on the back of subdued demand from battery-maker in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July declined by 55 paise, or 0.48%, to Rs 124.75 per kg in business turnover of 3,049 lots.
Likewise, lead for delivery in August traded lower by 55 paise, or 0.44%, to Rs 125.60 per kg in 139 lots.
Market analysts said speculators reduced their positions, driven by subdued demand from battery maker in the spot market mainly led to decline in lead prices at futures trade.
