Lead futures traded a shade higher by 0.17 per cent in futures trade today on the back of firming trend at the domestic market, even as it weakened at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February traded 20 paise, or 0.17 per cent higher at Rs 117.30 per kg, with a turnover of 26 lots.
March contract gained 15 paise, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 117.05 per kg and clocked a turnover of six lots.
Market analysts said increased demand from battery makers at the spot market helped lead futures to trade higher but losses at the London Metal Exchange, limited the gains.
