Lead prices slipped by 0.43 per cent to Rs 127 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in May fell 55 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 127 per kg in a business turnover of 111 lots.

The metal for delivery in May slipped marginally by 35 paise, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 128.30 per kg in three lots.

Market analysts said besides the sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange kept pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
