The markets continue to spiral down into the last hour of trading. The Sensex is down 294 points at 20,204 and the Nifty has shed 94 points at 6,084. In the broader markets, the smallcap index is flat at 10,737 while the midcap index is down 0.6% at 8,435. Meanwhile, the benchmark index continues to under perform at 1% in the negative.
All the sectoral indices have slipped into the red. The draggers are IT and Teck down 2% each while Realty is trading flat.
Gainers (BSE): NTPC up 0.5% and Hindustan Unilever gaining 0.3% are the only gainers on the Sensex.
Losers (BSE): TCS, Wipro,Hero Honda and Infosys down 3% each are the top losers. Bharti Airtel, SBI, Tata Motors and ACC shedding 2% are the other significant losers.
The market breadth is negative.1850 stocks have declined while 1131 have advanced.
