The BSE Sensex closed higher on Monday as stocks of blue-chip companies recovered from recent losses, tracking positive cues from European markets, while technology shares rose for a consecutive session. Quarterly results of large corporates, especially the country's largest conglomerate Reliance Industries, will set the trend in the short term, according to analysts.

The benchmark Sensex closed higher 86.69 points, or 0.33 per cent, higher at 26,384.07, while the broader Nifty ended up 24.30 points, or 0.31 per cent, at 7,884.25. Technology stocks were among the lead gainers, with Infosys rising 1.4 per cent, adding to its 6.6 per cent gain in the last session, after the company's stellar earnings led to renewed buying interest in India's software exporters.
