Markets firm; SBI up 6%, breadth extremely +ve

The NSE Nifty is up 174 points at 4,414.

Reliance Communications (RCom) has zoomed nearly 10% to Rs 515. ICICI Bank and Reliance Infrastructure have soared around 9% each to Rs 720 and Rs 1,004, respectively.

HDFC, BHEL and DLF have surged around 8% each to Rs 2,322, Rs 1,727 and Rs 490, respectively.

Tata Steel and HDFC Bank have rallied 6.7% each to Rs 666 and Rs 1,174, respectively.

SBI has gained 6% at Rs 1,482, and Tata Motors has advanced 5% to Rs 433.

Larsen & Toubro has moved up 4.5% to Rs 2,688. Jaiprakash Associates, NTPC and Hindalco have added around 4% each to Rs 166, Rs 192 and Rs 153, respectively.

Cipla is down 1.3% at Rs 235.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,371 stocks traded so far, 1,960 have advanced, 352 have declined and 59 are unchanged.
