Mentha oil down by 0.1% on profit booking

Oil for delivery in October weakened by 0.02%

Mentha oil prices weakened by 0.12% to Rs 860.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid a subdued demand in the spot market from consuming industries.

Adequate stocks position in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November declined by Re 1, or 0.12%, to Rs 860.20 per kg in business turnover of 59 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in October weakened by 20 paise, or 0.02%, to Rs 848.30 per kg in 219 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in mentha oil futures to profit booking by speculators due to subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing regions.
