Mentha oil futures up 1.34% on spot demand

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 19.70 to Rs 1,487.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions tracking a firming trend at spot market on pick up in demand from pharmaceutical units.

Tight supplies from the growing belts of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the upsurge in prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January mentha oil rose by Rs 19.70, or 1.34% to Rs 1,487.70 per kg in business turnover of 705 lots.

The February delivery moved up by Rs 19.10, or 1.29% to Rs 1,499.80 per kg in 226 lots.
