Mentha oil rise 1.56% on spot demand

Restricted arrivals also pulled prices higher

Mentha oil futures prices today rose by Rs 19.70 to Rs 1,281.50 per kg as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot demand.

Restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the Mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the MCX, mentha oil for delivery in June gained Rs 19.70, or 1.56%, to Rs 1,281.50 per kg, with a trading volume of 208 lots.

The July contract rose by Rs 8.60, or 0.67%, to Rs 1,290 per kg, with a a business turnover of 437 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators following pick-up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
