Foreign fund houses-- Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Pte and HSBC Global Investment today acquired a total of 1.36 crore shares of LIC Housing Finance for Rs 382 crore.
The shares were purchased through various open market transaction on the stock exchanges.
Individually, Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Pte bought a total of 94.58 lakh shares of LIC Housing Finance, a subsidiary of life insurance giant LIC.
In addition, HSBC Global Investment Funds Ac HSBC Global Investment Funds (Mauritius) Ltd purchased 41.80 lakh shares of LIC Housing Finance.
These shares were picked up at an average price of Rs 280 aggregating to the deal size to Rs 382 crore.
In a separate deal, Aditya Birla Private Equity Trust bought 1.67 lakh shares in rating agency CARE Ltd for Rs 935.07 apiece valuing the transaction size at Rs 15.62 crore.
At the BSE, shares of LIC Housing Finance slipped by 0.48% to settle at Rs 282.50 apiece, while that of CARE Ltd rose by 1.54 to close at Rs 935.75 on the bourse.
