MRF gains 2% on robust Q3 numbers

Tyre-maker MRF has gained over 2% to Rs 13,430 in afternoon trades after the company reported a net profit of Rs 180 crore for the quarter ended December 2012, as compared to Rs 113 crore in the previous corresponding period.

Total Income increased from Rs 2,879 crore in the December 2011 quarter to Rs 3,029 crore during the period under review.  

The stock opened at Rs 13,250 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and touched an intra-day high of Rs 13,550. As many as 15,000 shares changed hands in BSE and NSE.
