Nickel prices moved up by 0.39% to Rs 902.60 per kg in futures market today as participated enlarged positions on strong domestic demand amid a mixed trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in February gained Rs 3.50, or 0.39%, to Rs 902.60 per kg in business turnover of 485 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in March rose by Rs 3.40, or 0.38%, to Rs 909.10 per kg in 64 lots.

Market analysts said apart from increased domestic demand from alloy-makers, a mixed trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange also influenced nickel futures here.
