Nifty gains 100pts; HDFC Bank zooms 7%

The NSE Nifty is up 100 points at 4,259.

HDFC Bank has zoomed 7% to Rs 1,159. Reliance Infrastructure has soared 5.5% to Rs 908.

BHEL has surged over 5% to Rs 1,584. Tata Steel and Reliance Communications have rallied 3.8% each to Rs 622 and Rs 464, respectively.

ICICI Bank and HDFC have gained 3.3% each at Rs 665 and Rs 2,152, respectively.

Hindalco has moved up 2.8% to Rs 147, and SBI has added 2.5% to Rs 1,380.

ITC has gained 2.3% at Rs 183. NTPC, Wipro and Larsen & Toubro have advanced over 2% each to Rs 185, Rs 381 and Rs 2,562, respectively.

Maruti has plunged 7.7% to Rs 598. Tata Motors has shed 3.5% at Rs 405.
