ONGC slips on 16% dip in Q4 net

The stock extended losses and touched a low of Rs 1,005. However, in the last few minutes of trade, it recovered and touched the day's high of Rs 1,052, up 4.6% from the low. It finally ended with a loss of 2.5% at Rs 1,025. Over 484,000 shares were traded on the BSE today.

ONGC has slipped after reporting a 16% dip in Q4 net profit, yesterday.

The stock opened almost flat at Rs 1,045. It tried to recover but slipped 2.5% to a low of Rs 1,025. It is currently trading down 2% at Rs 1,030. Over 45,000 stocks have been traded on the BSE so far.

The company informed the BSE that the net profit has declined 16% to Rs 2,206.76 crore in the fourth quarter on FY09 from Rs 2,627.10 crore in the same quarter the previous fiscal.

The total income declined 14.5% to Rs 15,113.13 crore from Rs 17,6593.78 crore.
