Quantum MF, BSE and CDSL team up to create awareness on RGESS

Series of Investor Awareness programmes will be held across 10 strategic locations in Mumbai

Quantum Mutual Fund in association with Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) have jointly agreed to create awareness among investors on the Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme (RGESS) in Mumbai.

The Investor Awareness Programmes (IAP) aim at simplifying the features of RGESS to investors and educate investors on how they can avail tax benefits by investing in RGESS.
 
Together, with BSE and CDSL, Quantum plans to organise a variety of programmes to increase financial literacy of the investors and explain how they can avail tax benefit by investing under RGESS qualified schemes.

The series of Investor Awareness programmes (IAP) will be held across 10 strategic locations across Mumbai, namely Borivali, Vasai, Dahisar, Virar, Thane, Dombivali, Ghatkopar, Mulund and Dadar. Interested investors can visit this free of cost IAPs that started from February 22, 2013 at Dadar and get to know RGESS better. They have already conducted three IAP’s and are looking forward to doing many more in future.
 
Commenting on this initiative, C Vasudevan, Senior General Manager, BSE Investor Protection Fund said, “Financial literacy is the need of the hour for the Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme as investors are looking for some better avenues to save tax. We appreciate that the calling need of investor education and awareness across India is being recognised by organisations and we would continue to partner in such investor oriented initiatives.”
 
Jimmy Patel, Chief Executive Officer, Quantum AMC emphasised the need of Investor education for the mutual industry by saying, “The initiative of the 'Investor Awareness Programme' is taken by us jointly with BSE Investor Protection Fund and CDSL to help the investors take informed financial decisions and save tax through investing under RGESS qualified schemes. During our meet, we will look at some of the key developments during the year and discuss various investing opportunities for the individual investors”.
