Sensex down 258pts; Tata Motors down 3.9%

The Sensex  is now down 258 points to 16,984 points. The Nifty is trading at 5040 points, down 76 points.

TCS has gained 0 .5% at Rs 969.  Satyam and Infosys have advanced marginally.

Tata Motors has lost 3.9% to Rs 662. Reliance Infra is down 3.2% to Rs 1,334. ICICI Bank has declined 2.8 % at Rs 885. 

 HDFC and M&M are down 2.1% at Rs 2,630 and Rs 653 respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and HDFC Bank have lost 1.9% at Rs 247 and Rs 1386.

Reliance Communications, L&T, Hindalco, Grasim, Maruti,  Bhel, NTPC, ITC and DLF are the major losers.
