Sensex down 465pts; HDFC Bank slumps 10%

The NSE Nifty is down 127 points at 3,912.

HDFC Bank has slumped nearly 10% to Rs 932. ICICI Bank has tumbled 7.7% to Rs 536.

Ranbaxy has plunged 9% to Rs 434. SBI and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 5.5% each at Rs 516 and Rs 1,831, respectively.

HDFC has dropped 5.3% to Rs 1,831. BHEL and Reliance Communications have slipped 5% each to Rs 1,399 and Rs 415, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has declined 4.5% to Rs 781. Hindalco, Tata Steel, Wipro and Jaiprakash Associates are down 4% each at Rs 144, Rs 656, Rs 388 and Rs 149, respectively.

Satyam has surged 3.3% to Rs 423. TCS has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 783.
